A Nigerian mother known as Akuapem poloo, has recently posted naked pictures of her self, and her son to celebrate his 7th year birthday. Accompanied with the pictures, is a touching caption meant to express her feeling about his birth, and what he means to her. I had gone to see a friend yesterday at Rukuba here in Jos. I was seated in his room, when I over heard some people shouting at a man angrily from outside. From what I garnered from their arguments and shouts, the wife of this man had gone into a contribution (Adashe), as it is popularly known. She had formed the contribution group, and thus became the leader of the contribution. A certain agreement was made between members before the contribution began. And she signed a document, agreeing to be held accountable for any loss of money, should anyone default in payment, or abscond. This contribution had been going on perfectly for months now, without the knowledge of her husband. She had kept it entirely from him. Well someone close to her in the group, absconded with a huge amount of money - over two hundred thousand or there about. I logged in to see a message from a very good friend of mine. She asked this question. "Does killing a rapist help it's victim?"  I tried to answer that question without even thinking. But after coming across this picture my heart bled.   This is a 3month old baby, that was raped by a man in Jos plateau state, Nigeria.  I wonder what part of the body of this innocent child, seduced this heartless animal in human form to rape this 3months old baby. This poor child now requires multiple stiches to enable her defecate properly. This man has been arrested by the police, and will one day roam the streets a free man, after serving his Jail sentence.  Killing him may not actually help the victim.  But as the victim, it is better for me to hear the news that he was killed for raping me, than to hear the news of his eventual release from prison. This is wickedness. Whats your own thought about this?

Yesterday, I was eating my pounded yam and vegetable soup with kpomo and shaki, when I heard these married couples in my compound quarrelling. They were dishing out insults to each other.  The woman called him a humaniser. She said he had a small penis, and also told him that he was a one minute man. The angry man told her that she had a smelling vagina that smells like a dead rat. The next thing I heard was a resounding slap that made me drop the pounded yam in my hands. That was how fight started. The woman ran outside the compound shouting and screaming. "Come and beat me. I say beat me. Useless man. Come. I say come out let us fight." The sound of their iron door kept banging upon the wall.  The floor was shaking and vibrating. It sounded like two elephants fighting. Hence there was no body in the compound, I decided to go and calm the couples down. I quickly threw the last kpomo in my mouth and washed my hands. Some days back, I was sitting in the midst of some two married men who are my neighbours. They talked about a lot of things.  One of them was a banker who worked for Access bank in town. The other man is a teacher, who teaches in a private school in Bukuru, here in Jos. The both men talked about how the Pandemic was eating deep into their finance. The banker as we still call him, told the teacher that he broke down in tears when he saw his name among the workers who were dropped. He said his branch in town was closed because of the inability to pay up staffs. He told the teacher how he had just bought two plot of land with his savings, worth 1million naira, and how he was hoping to recover and get back on his feet, after receiving three or four months salary. He complained bitterly how the corona Virus pandemic came and spoilt everything, living him without a Job and money. He complained about being totally broke and penniless.
